HVAC Rebates: What Programs Exist, and Does Your Job Qualify?

Rebates from utilities and energy programs can reduce the cost of a new heat pump, air conditioner, furnace, or boiler — sometimes by hundreds or thousands of dollars. But rebate amounts, eligibility rules, and deadlines change, and not every job or every piece of equipment qualifies.

This page summarizes the major programs that Philadelphia-area and New Jersey homeowners commonly ask about. It is general program information only. It does not claim that Philly HVAC Connect is a participating contractor in any program listed here. The right question for any job is: “Does this specific job qualify, under the program’s current rules?” — and that’s a question to ask us about your job before you buy.

Important: Rebate amounts and program terms change. Always verify the current amount, eligibility rules, and deadlines against the official program site before relying on them, and ask us whether your job qualifies under the rules in effect at the time.

PECO rebates (Pennsylvania, PECO service territory)

PECO offers rebates for qualifying energy-efficient HVAC equipment. Amounts commonly cited include:

  • Heat pumps: $200–$300 for ducted systems, and $150–$300 for ductless mini-splits.
  • Central air conditioning: $150–$200.

PECO rebate applications generally must be filed within 90 days of installation — so timing matters. If you’re counting on a rebate, don’t let the paperwork drift: ask at the time of installation what needs to be filed, by whom, and by when.

Ask us whether your job qualifies under PECO’s current rules, and verify the current amounts and requirements on PECO’s official rebate pages before you commit.

PGW EnergySense rebates (Philadelphia, PGW service territory)

Philadelphia Gas Works’ EnergySense program offers rebates for qualifying high-efficiency natural gas equipment. Amounts commonly cited include:

  • Furnace: up to $800.
  • Boiler: up to $1,400 at 94% AFUE.
  • Combi boiler: up to $2,000.

AFUE (Annual Fuel Utilization Efficiency) is a measure of how efficiently a furnace or boiler turns fuel into heat — so the efficiency rating of the equipment you choose can determine whether it qualifies and for how much.

Ask us whether your job qualifies under PGW EnergySense’s current rules, and verify the current amounts, AFUE thresholds, and requirements on PGW’s official program pages before you commit.

EAP Fall 2026

The EAP Fall 2026 program is cited with rebates of $250–$1,650, for contracts running August 3 through November 13, 2026.

Because this program has a defined contract window, timing is part of eligibility: work contracted outside the window may not qualify, even if the equipment itself would otherwise be eligible.

Ask us whether your job qualifies under the EAP Fall 2026 rules in effect for your contract date, and verify the current terms on the program’s official pages before you commit.

NJ Clean Energy / Whole Home (New Jersey)

New Jersey’s Clean Energy Program, including its Whole Home offerings, is cited with incentives of up to $7,500, plus 0% financing options, with terms running through June 30, 2027.

This is a program-level incentive and financing structure — not an offer from Philly HVAC Connect, and not a promise that any particular job qualifies. Eligibility typically depends on the home, the equipment, the scope of work, and the program’s current rules, and the financing terms are set by the program, not by this business.

Ask us whether your job qualifies under NJ Clean Energy / Whole Home’s current rules, and verify the current amounts, financing terms, and deadlines on the program’s official pages before you commit.

A correction: the federal 25C heat pump credit has ended

If you’ve read older articles or heard older advice about a federal tax credit for heat pumps, note this correction: the federal 25C heat pump credit ended December 31, 2025.

That means you should not count on a 25C credit for a heat pump installed after that date, and you should be skeptical of any quote or advertisement that still presents it as available. Tax situations vary by household, so for any remaining federal, state, or local tax question, check with a qualified tax professional and verify against official sources.

How to use this page

  1. Find the program for your area and fuel type. PECO and PGW serve different territories and fuels; New Jersey programs apply to New Jersey homes.
  2. Check the deadline. PECO’s 90-day filing window, EAP’s contract window, and NJ’s June 30, 2027 terms all mean timing can decide eligibility.
  3. Ask us whether your specific job qualifies — before you buy, not after. Equipment model, efficiency rating, and installation details can all matter.
  4. Verify against the official program site. Amounts and rules change, and the program’s site is the authority, not this page.

Frequently asked questions

Does my HVAC job automatically qualify for a rebate?

No. Eligibility depends on the program, your location and utility, the equipment’s efficiency, and the program’s current rules. Ask us whether your specific job qualifies before you buy.

Is Philly HVAC Connect a participating contractor in these programs?

This page makes no such claim for any program. Ask us about the status of your job under each program, and verify participation requirements on the program’s official site.

How quickly do I need to file a PECO rebate?

PECO applications generally must be filed within 90 days of installation. Ask at installation time what needs to be filed, by whom, and by when — and verify the current deadline on PECO’s site.

What does “up to” mean in a rebate amount?

It means the amount is a maximum, not a guarantee. The actual amount depends on the equipment, its efficiency rating (such as AFUE for boilers and furnaces), and the program’s rules.

Can I still claim the federal 25C heat pump credit?

No — the federal 25C heat pump credit ended December 31, 2025. Don’t count on it for work done after that date, and check with a tax professional for any other tax questions.

Do rebate amounts change?

Yes. Programs update amounts, eligibility rules, and deadlines. Always verify the current terms against the official program site before relying on them.

Does the NJ 0% financing come from Philly HVAC Connect?

No. The 0% financing cited here is a program-level NJ Clean Energy / Whole Home term, not an offer from this business. Ask us whether your job qualifies, and verify the program’s current financing terms on its official site.
